Found an earwig inside? Start here
An occasional earwig does not automatically mean your home needs spraying. These insects have distinctive pincers at the rear and often shelter in damp, confined outdoor spaces. Remove isolated visitors with a vacuum or dustpan, then check where they may be entering.
Check the conditions around your home
- Look for damp leaf litter, mulch and stored timber close to outside walls.
- Check leaking taps, irrigation and drainage near affected rooms.
- Inspect door seals and gaps around window frames.
- Record which rooms are affected and whether sightings repeat.
Reducing damp shelter and repairing appropriate entry gaps can help reduce indoor activity. A treatment is not a permanent substitute for addressing those conditions. Do not block building drainage or ventilation openings.
When should you book an inspection?
If sightings keep recurring after your initial checks, request an assessment rather than repeatedly applying products without identifying the source. Tell us whether the problem is mainly inside the home or in the garden: those are different questions to investigate.
